A friend is one who draws you near
By sharing all the times so dear
Whether next door or far away
Thinking about you every day

Time slips by so very fast
But true friendships always last
They survive the test of time
While we all our mountains climb

A friend though not in daily touch
The closeness always remains just such
That lost time simply fades away
When you meet to talk and play

Life goes on keeping us busy
Running in circles 'til we're dizzy
But when a friend calls in need
We stop and listen, yes, indeed

No one knows quite as well
Just the type of the living hell
That another has gone through
Unless it's a friend, oh, so true

That's the measure of a friend
They love you always without end
It doesn't matter what you do
A friend will always see you through

Moments shared are memories made
To keep us smiling, never to fade
Especially when we lose our way
A friend is there to save the day

A friend just loves you as you are
Faults and failures can never mar
The special feeling between the few
Who understand as true friends do

Have you told a friend so dear
That you love them, made it clear
Time's a wasting, don't delay
Share that with them now, today

Exactly what am I trying to say?
This is my own sweet humble way
Of telling you how deeply I care
About a friend who's, oh, so rare!
